New SCIP Sales features: Theme Designer and Embedded Insurance

The last major release of SCIP included the Journey Creator, which, among other, enables the user to structure application forms and to edit the text within.
In addition to this, we now offer a lightweight no-code solution to adapt the application forms to any corporate design: e.g. colors, fonts and font sizes, display formats for price boxes or the module selection. Each insurer can use the new Theme Designer independently to adapt application forms to its corporate design or that of a cooperation partner.
Before that, frontend components had to be developed individually for this purpose. The procedure always led to the desired result, but was associated with development effort. With the new no-code Theme Designer, we create a flexible and fast alternative.

Theming made easy: Theme Designer in SCIP

Now insurers can choose whether to use their own frontend components or Theme Designer - depending on the goal and requirements, one or the other makes more sense. But Theme Designer is also attractive for partners who the insurer would like to connect as an additional distribution channel. One example: If the product is to be sold as a white label via a partner, the partner's design can be easily and quickly integrated via Theme Designer.

Listening to the market: Embedded Insurance

The relevance of Embedded Insurance is becoming more and more important in the market and is now something of a mandatory component of every digital e-commerce solution for insurers.
We offer Embedded Insurance in two ways:

  • For each application form created in SCIP, the insurer can copy an embed code that can be included on any (partner) website. That's all the partner has to do, the form is immediately visible and can be used, exactly as created and designed in SCIP. This is as easy as embedding a YouTube video.
With a little more effort, the partner can also pass "hidden" external information into the embedded application form. For example, partner IDs or existing information (customer address) can be transferred, which therefore no longer have to be entered manually into the application form.

For example, the user is already logged into the partner's system, and the personal data stored is automatically transferred to the application form.
Another example: When offering a "device insurance"-policy via an online store (partner), the partner transfers the device type ("laptop") and the purchase price ("1,300 €") to the application form in advance, so that the price for the insurance cover can be calculated on this basis.

  • Alternatively, Embedded Insurance can also be implemented using our open GraphQL API: Simply create the product in SCIP. The partner can retrieve all necessary product information via the API in order to map it in its own frontend and, of course, ultimately also use it to apply the application into a policy administration system. These can be transferred to the insurer's own policy administration system or to SCIP's policy administration system, as desired.

SCIP is continuing to develop into a fully comprehensive e-commerce solution for insurers - including a policy administration system if desired. On our mission "Make insurance feel simple", the focus remains on easy usability without programming knowledge. This means that time-to-markets and cooperations can now be realized even more easily.
